Average Age of the vines
With a selection in the vineyard on the stainless grape bin. It started the 17th of September. The fresh and rainy Spring, followed by a warmer summer and good rains in end of July, delayed the maturity of the grapes. It allowed us to pick up at the optimal maturity and in very good conditions. Even if the quantities were smaller, the quality is particularly well present. This provides a very beautiful vintage with a bright and ruby colour, and some fresh and fruity fragrancies.
Traditionally during 15 days - with thermoregulation to controlled the temperature
6 to 8 months in oak big barrels
In enameled tanks before going to the oak barrels
A very nice freshness to the nose and in the mouth with particularly fruity and spicy notes. Apetizing flavors reminiscent of red fruits and black or wild berries fruits such as blackberry. Peppery notes also enrich its power and its content in the mouth. It's a young vintage which don't finish to reveal all its secret...
The Winemaker's Advice
The fruity and spicy notes of the Tradition 2013 will marry very well with beautiful meats such as lamb, duck, and some games. It will accompany a magret with wild cramberries and raspberry vinegar, all served with a pan of pumpkins and potatoes. Or also, a grilled rack of lamb with some eggplants and peppers passed to the pan with olive oil to accomodate better the tart and fruity notes of this delicious vintage!
