History

The MAYARD Family, native of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, owned a property since Napoléon III.

1st generation, Barthélémy MAYARD acquires plots after plots and operates a vineyard cerfitied by Napoléon III.

2nd generation, Lucien MAYARD undertakes to grow vines on the lands inherited from his father.

3rd generation, Marius MAYARD and Fernand MAYARD. Fernand, Marius's brother and Roger's uncle, built the winery in 1929.

4th generation, Roger MAYARD, married to Alice MERLE, buys some additionnal lands and starts the bottling and develops commercialization.

5th generation, Jean-Luc MAYARD moves to the estate in 1976 and takes the succession, "Domaine Roger MAYARD" then becomes "Domaine Roger MAYARD & Fils".

In 1990 the Domaine becomes "Domaine du Galet des Pape". It symbolises the prestigious synthesis of our vineyard, spread with big rolled pebbles.

The 6th generation, Blandine MAYARD, after seven years of studies and work experiences about the different stapes of the vineyard and the wine, moves to the Domaine in 2013 !
